World History Visualized Through Wikipedia

Gareth Lloyd and Tom Martin cross referenced Wikipedia articles related to events and their coordinate to create a dynamic visualization of Wikipedia’s view of world history. You can see empires fall, wars break out and continents discovered. It would’ve been easier to see if they’d overlaid a world map on top of the visualization, though. Found at Vimeo from Gareth Lloyd.
