YouTube opened up live streaming functionality to Nonprofit Partner members yesterday, according to the YouTube blog.

This is a huge development. That YouTube has live streaming capability is not new; we’ve seen it in action for select concerts and for breaking news events. But the fact they are now opening up the feature to nonprofits means it is likely only a matter of time before the feature becomes available to everyone. Watch out, UStream. Here’s a video about YouTube’s Nonprofit Partners program. Found at YouTube from nonprofits.
